Cherokee medicine men and women study for many years, and learn specific treatments from a written Cherokee syllabary given to them by their mentors. It is forbidden for anyone to look at this book if it isn't theirs, and it is often written in code, or parts are passed on verbally to keep the whole from falling into the wrong hands.   To be honest, I find the premise of the book far-fetched – she just happens to have tan skin because she loves to run around in the sun despite her mother’s warning and just happens to be visiting her Cherokee friend on that fateful day and just happens to have tried on her friend’s beautiful buckskin dress just before they are all.

19th century medical guide book titled "The Cherokee Physician, or Indian Guide to Health, as Given by Richard Foreman, a Cherokee Doctor; Comprising a Brief View of Anatomy, With General Rules for Preserving Health without the Use of Medicines.   The Cherokee physician, or, Indian guide to health: comprising a brief view of anatomy, with general rules for preserving health without the use of medicines: the diseases of the United States, with their symptoms, causes, and means of prevention are explained in simple terms: it also contains a description of a variety of herbs and roots, many of which are not explained in any other book.

Cherokee Nation Health Services (CNHS) is the largest tribally owned and operated healthcare system in the nation. Our system includes nine outpatient facilities, one hospital, a public health system, an adolescent rehabilitation facility, and EMS. Our areas of excellence include primary care, obstetrics, general surgery, orthopedics, podiatry.   Can anyone tell me how many copies of the “Cherokee Physician” first edition printed at the Gazette Office there were? I can only find information that it was the first book printed by the ‘Gazette”. I know there are 3 copies known at known libraries My family has owned an copy since Thank you for any response.
